I wasn’t a big fan of Twitter for most of its 14-year lifespan. I saw it as a mass of millions of short witticisms, usually angry in nature, not well thought through and typically offering little actual wisdom.

Add to it that only 20 percent of Americans use it even monthly, and 10 percent of Twitter users make up 80 percent of the tweets and what you have is low reach and high volume from an even lower reach number.

But Twitter has a place in the digital and social media sphere.
