Staying on top of the digital marketing and sales space reminds me of my days as a reporter.

You can’t be good at either without having some level of prior experience or hands-on knowledge. You have to be working toward expertise at all times.

You have to have a daily need to know what’s going on … or the investigation will defer to stronger priorities.

But most of all, you have to cultivate your beat. And it’s an ever-changing, multi-sourced arena with new players all of the time.
